The confirmation of the hotels is guaranteed upon confirmation of the trip and subsequent receipt of the deposit. If the planned hotels are not available will be proposed alternative structures of the same category. In case we cannot find than similar solutions, are provided: a supplement in case of higher class hotels and a refund in the case of lower category hotels.
Important points to note;
All the services in the programs is guaranteed, however for operational reasons, order of the itinerary may vary. Check in at hotels is expected no earlier than 14:00 hours. The checkout is categorically expected by 11:00. All above hotel rates are subjected to revision as and when government taxes are revised or when respective hotel managements revise rates.
Bars, Clubs or similar entertainment is prohibited during “Poya” Days. As such liquor will also not be served in public areas of the hotels during this time.
Visas:
A tourist visa needs to be obtained for nationals other than Singapore & Maldives. The cost is approximately 30 USD, and could be obtained online. For further details, visit http://www.eta.gov.lk/
Airport Tax:
Cost of Airport tax is included to the flight ticket. However, this could differ for Charter flights.

The bus will be parked at the main bus stop at the seaside (Opposite Taj Hotel Galle Road Entrance) of Galle face green Colombo from 05.30 hrs.
The journey will be started toward Mannar sharp at 06:00 hrs.
The bus will stop at Jetwing Blue Negombo around 07:00hrs for breakfast and drive toward Mannar at 8.00hrs. ( 170kms-4 hrs) The bus will stop at Anuradhapura for lunch around 12:30hrs.
❖ Visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Madhu, which is one of the oldest and most visited churches in Sri Lanka (90kms-2hrs) at (15.30hrs)
❖ Visit the Giant’s Tank and the surrounding sanctuary, which is another breathtaking location in Mannar. (30kms – ½ hrs) at 17.00hrs
Arrive in Mannar around 17.30hrs.
❖ Visit the Mannar Fort located in the heart of the city overlooking the Indian Ocean. This fort was built by the Portuguese in 1560 to provide security for trading activities. (25kms- ½ hrs) at 17.30 hrs
Check in to Palmyrah House in Mannar in the afternoon. (12kms -16 minutes) at 18.45hrs

❖ Talaimannar Pier and Lighthouse (18kms-40 minutes) at 09.00hrs
Proceed to Talaimannar Pier and Lighthouse. The pier was used as a dock for the ferry service that existed between Sri Lanka and India until it was destroyed by a cyclone in 1964
❖ Baobab Tree
This tree was brought as a gift by the African slaves traded in Jaffna and Mannar by the Portuguese. (31kms – 1 hour) at 10.30 hrs
❖ Palavi
Palavi is the most iconic holy place in Mannar since it relates to the Thiruketheeswaram Shiva Temple. The water-cutting ceremony takes place in this pond during the annual feast. It is a branch of Malwathu Oya. (8kms-15 minutes) at 11.15 hrs
❖ Thirukketheshwaram
Thiruketheeswaram is an ancient Hindu temple known as one of the Old Shiva temples of Sri Lanka. It is located 08.7Km away from Mannar town. It is one of the ancient temples which were mentioned in their poems.

❖ Doric Bungalow
Doric bungalow is one of the colonial monuments that depict the historic architectural aspects. (33kms – 1 hour) at 14.30hrs
❖ Arippu Dutch Fort
The Arippu fort is in the Thirupparaithurai, where the ancient habitation of locals was found.
❖ Vankalai Lagoon & Birds Sanctuary (21kms- ½ hrs) at 16.30hrs
We can see hundreds of beautiful migrant birds during the session. The Vankalai lagoon and sanctuary are also important places to enjoy birds.

The bus will be ready in front of Palmyrah House in Mannar to depart to Colombo by 08:00hrs.
❖ Thanthirimale Cave Paintings and Reclining Buddha (90kms-2hrs) at 10.00hrs (spent 1 ½ hrs at the monuments)
One of the first eight offshoots of Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi was planted here by Thivanka Bamuna during the 3rd Century BC. The monastery is surrounded by huge boulders and thick forests. There are beautiful Samadhi and reclining Buddha statues carved from the large rocks. Five meditating caves scattered in the deep forest of Thanthirimale have Brahmi writings as old as 4000 years!

❖ Muneshvaram Temple at Chilaw (110kms-2 ½ hrs) at 16.00hrs
Lord Rama, after his victorious battle, left for Ayodhya in one of King Ravana’s vimanas. And he stopped the vimana because he encountered “Brahmahathi Dosham.” He ascended from the vimana and asked God Shiva for a remedy. God Shiva blessed Lord Rama and advised him to install four lingams at Manavari, Thiru Koneswaram, Thiruketheeswaram, and Rameshwaram in India and pray. And it was the only remedy to get rid of the “Brahmahathi Dosham”.
