Itinerary

Day 01 AIRPORT - MIRISSA

Arrival at the Colombo International Airport. Clients will be welcomed by AYUBOWAN TOURS & TRAVELS representative and transfer to Mirissa.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02MIRISSA

Early morning leave for Mirissa Harbor to go for whale watching tour (best season is from November to April)

Afterwards, in the evening you can visit Galle Fort, experience the fort’s antique architecture and charming streetscapes on our heritage walk through including the Dutch Museum and church before travelling to Bentota via Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery. Take a Journey by boat through the Madu Ganga Wetlands, one of the remaining tracts of pristine mangrove forest in Sri Lanka.

Day 03MIRISSA - YALA

Optional:  You will be taken for another whale watching tour.

Leave for Yala. In the evening make an infrared night drive in Yala national park. You can see the wild animals all day long. Wildlife can also be seen at night. You can discover their nocturnal behavior with infrared technology. The use of this technology along with night vision goggles ensures that the wildlife stays undisturbed by artificial lights. The experience gets more thrilling at night because of the darkness and the unrestrained behavior of the animals at those hours.

Day 05YALA - UDAWALAWE

After breakfast leave for Udawalawe. En route visit “Ath Athuru Sevana”, the elephant transit home owned by the Department of Wild Life Conservation was established on October 6, 1995 at the Udawalawe national park to shelter baby elephants found abandoned, stranded, orphaned or wounded in the jungles from all parts of the island. The “babies” are treated at the home and looked after till they are fit enough to be released back to the wild.

In the evening make a jeep safari at Udawalawe national park.

Day 06UDAWALAWE - COLOMBO

Early morning make a jeep safari at Udawalawe national park. . The Uda Walawe national park was designated in 1972 to offer a refuge to migratory elephants, during the time it has also become a sanctuary for many other mammals, including spotted deer, toque monkey, wild pig, grey langur, leopard and sambar, as well as numerous birds. Nearly 100 bird species may be spotted here in a single day. The park is situated around the Uda Walawe Reservoir, a man-made lake (tank) and a variety of terrain (open grassland, teak plantation and jungle) can be found.

Afterwards driver Colombo via Ratnapura. Optional en route visiting Ratnapura, the city famous for its gems.

Day 07 COLOMBO - AIRPORT

After breakfast leave for airport for onward flight.
