Itinerary

Day 1Colombo - Sigiriya

Arrival at the Colombo International Airport. Clients will be Welcome by our AYUBOWAN TOURS & TRAVELS representative and transfer to Hotel at Sigiriya..Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 2 Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa – Sigiriya

After breakfast, leave for Polonnaruwa via Habarana. In Habarana join the place of elephant ride. Then do a sightseeing tour in ancient city Polonnaruwa (11th Century AD), visit the many sites of archaeological and historical interest in the Sacred City including the Grate Statue, Quadrangle, Royal Palace, Gal Viharaya, Kumara and Lotus Ponds, Thiwanka Image House and many more. And see the one of the country’s biggest water reservoir Parakrama Samudraya.Evening climb to the Rock fortress Sigiriya. Sigiriya (Lion’s rock) is an ancient rock fortress and palace built during the reign of King Kassapa I (AD 477 – 495). Contemporary with the paintings of Ajantha and Ellora Caves in India, highlights being the Frescoes, Mirror Wall and the Lion’s Paw, and it is one of the Seven World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka.Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Sigiriya..

Day 3Sigiriya-Dambulla-Matale-Kandy

After breakfast leave for Kandy via Dambulla, Nalanda and Matale. First visit Dambulla cave Temple. It is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings. This paintings and statues are related to Lord Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of god and goddess.Then visit Gedige at Nalanda one of the remarkable archaeological sites in Sri Lanka & enjoying the Spice garden at Matale and take part in a conducted tour to get some knowledge about the growth and use of spices in the day to day life.Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Kandy.

Day 4 Kandy – Nanu Oya (by train) - Ramboda – Kandy

After breakfast depart for Nanu oya by train to the Sri Lanka Mountains. On the way back stop and visit a plantation and a tea factory. Arrival in Ramboda, visit the famous waterfalls, the highest of the island with a jump of over 100 meters. Back in Kandy.Dinner and Overnight at Hotel in Kandy.

Day 5Day 5- Kandy - Pinnawala –Waskaduwa.

After breakfast leave for Waskaduwa, along the way stop and visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. The elephant orphanage was founded in order to allow the care and protection of many wild elephants orphaned found wandering in and near the forests of Sri Lanka. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Waskaduwa.

Day 6Waskaduwa – Galle – Hikkaduwa – Balapitiya – Bentota – Colombo – Negombo.

After breakfast leave for Galle.Galle Fort was built first by the Portuguese, then modified by the Dutch during the 17th century. Even today, after 400 years of existence, it looks new and polished with reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka, inside the Galle fort which is in a Dutch Colonial building in Church Street is the Cultural Museum.Optional; Visit Turtle Hatchery, Madu River Boat Ride, Underwater Corals.

Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Galle or Negombo.
